All these years of teaching have taught me the following
- There is nothing like real learning or teaching. the teacher is just a time filling, pseudo-being who creates a make belief situation where the students feel that they have learned something ( Humanities)
- Teacher enjoys the act of teaching seldom recognizing the presence of learners. He reaches a kind of frenzied level through the act of teaching which is most of the time narcissistic and self-centered.
- The teacher only opens up new paths in the minds of the students. The student should never feel enslaved to the teacher. They should rise above the teacher and find his own path.
- A teacher can never perform the same way throughout an academic session. Some days are good and some days are bad. Consistency is something difficult in teaching. ( this matters only if the teacher is bit sympathetic or empathetic to his students.
- It is easy for the teacher to sulk into the role of a Facilitator, but he should be aware of the fact that the role demands more than that of a puppeteer.
- Education is highly commercialized and marks most of the time gets equated with money. As students they need marks and as teachers we need money. So it is difficult for the teacher to say - This is what you deserve you, Moron.
- Research and updating is sadly missing from the teacher's life. Even if he is teaching ABCD, he should prepare himself to execute the lesson.
- Teacher should always see not the student but a normal human being with all emotions and confusion. It is easy to teach after a proper understanding of the target audience.
